McCLELLAN PARK, Sacramento County — Sacramento Regional Transit has outlined a major upgrade of its McClellan Park bus operations facility, including hydrogen fueling equipment and space for a larger zero-emission fleet.
The transit agency says the project would remodel the existing complex with six maintenance bays, an operations control center and storage for as many as 125 buses. Federal and state programs are expected to help fund the work, including a $76.8 million federal Low- or No-Emission grant component.
The agency has described a planning period beginning in 2025 and an anticipated completion in 2028. That is a project target, not confirmation the hydrogen station is already open or that all buses are now hydrogen-powered.
What residents and businesses should know
McClellan-area workers should watch SacRT project updates for changes in construction access and fleet operations. The investment is intended to expand the region’s capacity to maintain lower-emission transit vehicles.
